Wishing You the Best on Independence Day

HAPPY JULY 4TH, EVERYONE

George Washington Bridge, connecting upper Manhattan
and
northern New Jersey.

Two more views:
First, the NY Tower of the George Washington Bridge. Look closely and
you'll see the tiny Little Red Lighthouse underneath the mighty bridge.

Second, a closeup of the Little Red Lighthouse.

Happy 4th Zed!

I hope that it is peaceful and relaxing for you!

Although you had better move the soap over if you intend to get a good night's rest

Hi all! I added pictures of the Little Red Lighthouse under the GWB. Such an adorable place ...

Doctor Mom, I had soap under the bottom sheet last night and slept like a baby. :)

Teri, so sorry I'm so late in answering. Apparently large ships used to travel up and down the river, under the bridge and, so it is told, often crashed on the palisades on the east (New York) side of the river. The Little Red Lighthouse was supposed to help them navigate more carefully and see the bridge more clearly.

How could they NOT see that monstrous bridge?
