Life's All About Choices...

When Lucille Cataldo arose on this day in 1984, she thought she had chosen the perfect song to sing for her moment of fame on Stairway to Stardom. But she hadn't.

Oh, her voice coach probably told her the song was perfectly suited to her vocal range. And her family no doubt thought the song was cute and funny. But Lucille made a bad choice that day. Poor Lucille.

She could have been a star, people. She could have been a huge star. Sniff.

Lucille has a certain, oh, I don't know, je ne sais quoi about her. She could have been another Barbra Streisand.

Holy Crap! I can't believe I watched that whole thing. WOW, she actually got applause and thought she did good.

Superwoman, I watched the whole thing too, and now for 2 days straight I have heard the song "Hairdresser, Hairdresser" playing over and over in my head.

I might need a lobotomy if this keeps up. At this point, I would welcome it.

Also Superwoman, I researched her on the internet and it turns out she wrote the song too. This is not something to brag about. :)

How can she look OLDER in 1984 than today in 2007? I'm soooooo confused!

That is insane. Judging from the YouTube videos, I guess that was a real show? I don't remember hearing about it at all. Was my hair covering my ears at the time effectively blocking Lucille?

I didn't make it past the first stanza

Good Grief!

Someone really ought to be honest with the poor girl, she has bad hair, her outfit is dorky, and she's really not sexy

Am I being to critical?

Ok, I'll be nice, like her family and friends and provide positive reinforcement and encouragement so she can get up in front of thousands of people and make a royal ass of herself...

Hey, Great Job!

Dale, if you're ever feeling glum, and your hair is shorter, do a YouTube search for Stairway to Stardom. You'll laugh, I promise. For that small tip, you now owe me $10.00 in American dollars (Canadian currency is not accepted in The World According to Zed. Sorry, no exceptions.)

Doctor Mom, you're usually the most tender-hearted of all of us. I expected you to come to Lucille's defense. Poor woman--when even Doctor Mom doesn't defend you, you might as well just lay down in the fast lane of some major highway and hope a Mack truck barrels over you at breakneck speed. It's a sad day ...

Chelsea is a funny Lady. Her blog is good. Reminds me a lot of 2CA, although she hasn't enabled comments. The only reference to Lucille Cataldo is the one you found. I'm not sure this is the same lady. I think Chelsea was just making a funny comment. She has the same nose as Lucille, but would be around 45 now.
Will the real Lucille Cataldo please stand up?

The cheque is in the post. Did you understand that?

Sans, I know. I saw Chelsea's picture and thought she looked about 27-28 now in 2007 yet Lucille was about 28-35 in 1984. Soooo confusing--maybe Lucille was Chelsea's mom? They do look alike.

Bwaaahaa! Good one, Dale! But now that I'm done laughing, you should know I'm taking your check/cheque to the bank/banque on Monday/Lundi and it better not bounce. :)

Sans, I listened to the audio, read some more, looked at more Stairway to Stardom videos and all I can say is, why would you want to torture your friend like this? WHY?

Have a great weekend!

I must have been out of sorts from traveling that day.

My apologies to Miss Lucille... another lesson or two and you'll be ready for anything!
