Ernesto--What a Wimp!
This is an image of an airport. It is where I am headed this morning so my mother can fly home to Florida. Isn't that nice? Oh yes it is.
Tropical Storm Ernesto was no match for ME!!!
Update: At the airport at 11:35 a.m., already confirmed and checked in for her 2:00 pm flight, my mother turned to me and said, "I hope I don't miss the flight. I still have to make it to the gate."
Me: Mom, it won't take 2 1/2 hours to get to the gate. We can take a motorized cart and we'll be there in 4 minutes.
Mom: Well, I just don't want to miss the plane. What if we can't find the gate?
Me: We'll find the gate.
Mom: Okay, but I don't want to be late.
Me: I promise you, Mom. You won't be late.
Mom: I worry.
Me: Yes, I know.
Mom: I probably worry too much.
Me: Yep, you do.
Mom: I love you.
Me: Yep I know you do. I love you too.
She's cute. A worrier, but cute. :)

I enjoyed her stay..
But it's friggin HOT in here!
can you crank the A/C ??
Room temperature has now been adjusted, Jen.
And know what else?
1. I can eat dinner at 7 pm rather than 4:30 pm.
2. I'm using Tide again not Wisk.
3. Driving above 35 mph is no longer considered speeding.
Life is normal again!
YAY for normal life.
I don't know Jen it seems kind of chilly in here to me...
I have a space heater if you need it Teri.
but it's summer Zed, that's just crazy talk.....space heater indeed.
heheheheh
I'm bringing out the space heater and you'll use it Teri! :)
I loathe cronic worriers. Which is why my mother drives me nuts.
Hi Mainline Mom,
She wasn't always like this. It's just she has way too much time on her hands at 87, and she has nothing better to do than worry.
I try to think of it as one of her pastimes. Like knitting. :)
So did she make it back to Florida?
Maybe she;ll call you from the airport to pick her up and start her thee-week visit again. You never know.
i'm freezing. Did you put the air on again? Feel my nose. It's cold.
I'm Hot
Do you have any iced tea?
A fan?
Can we open a window?
My mom has always worried but NOW she has old age Paranioa added to the mix.
Glad she made the flight ok!
I am never cold anymore, crank up that A/C!
Jen--The air is as high as it can go. The temperature is 65 in here! I'll buy some ice and you can put it on your wrists and neck.
Mel--"I am never cold anymore." Funny! My question is what is "cold." I cannot relate. :)
Ha! We finally agree!
Fab, you're not thinking you're going to win are you? You like bunnies ...
Brrrrr.... what the heck, what do you think we live in Antartica.... turn off the air conditioner... it's only 89 degrees today. Open some windows, let the humidity in!
Nope, wait don't... I don't want the space heater either, that's a waste of money.
Don't you ask me to put more clothes on, that's just crazy... it's summer!
You really ought to get your thyroid checked... you know that can make you too hot if it's working too hard... they may need to radiate your thyroid.
I just didn't want you to miss your mom...
How'd I do Fancy Zed?
It feels like she never left!
Tears are running down my cheeks Doctor Mom. You've been around old people for way too long! :)
They're all alike.
Oh, the tears? Of laughter. :) You crack me up.
could you get me a blanket? i don't know why but it's very chilly on this blog. and why was there so much vomit a few posts back?
Re vomit: I believe it was nobody who first said he was going to upchuck due to the cuteness of the kitten pics and before you knew it, everyone was upchucking.
And now I can't seem to adjust the temperature in this blog so that everyone is happy. Some are hot; some are cold. I say, bring a sweater. You can always take it off. :)
Nobody was going to vomit at the octo-chips. And who could blame him? I thought the chips weren't so bad, but the kittens were quite queasy. (I'd say "who could blame me", but Jen would beat me down)
That's what mom's are for!
Yay for normal life again. Her visit was great but I prefer my privacy & normal dinner times.
Bless her heart though for loving you.
She DOES love me--it's the unconditional love of a mother. It's cute, and we did have a good time. But I really need my life back now and I want to be able to drive faster than 35 on the interstate. :)
Sushiboy, did you notice how Jen and Doctor Mom "stole" your Nerd Test?
I was going to steal it myself but they beat me to it!
Zed: Yup I did. Thats a great test. It deserved the mileage it got in Jen's comments, and I apprecaited the link. But Doc Ma, where is da luv? J/K glad you enjoyed the poll to.
Sorry Sushiboy--
I didn't know you had it first. I gave Jen credit on my blog.
Will make corrections next upload
I am the same way. I will probably try to convince my husband we need to be at the airport at 4 a.m.
Dang it is cold in here. But don't get a sweater, because it is summer. ;)
I think your mom is cute.
She is cute, Lynda. She's spry, with a sense of humor. But when she worries, everyone wants to run from her with their hands up in the air.
Yesterday as we were about to head for the airport, she was getting into the back seat of a friend's car and she kept trying to find the button to make the back seat fold forward so she could climb into the REAL back seat. I'm like, "Mom, you're already IN the back seat. There's isn't another back seat." Oh. :)
Now that she's back in Fla she's fine, but the travel is extremely stressful for her.
Next time you speak to your Mom, please give her my regards.
Tell her I wear a kilt.
