Killer Food

It's going to be a busy day. I've got to gather the ingredients for my super-duper heart-attack-inducing, mashed potatoes that I'm bringing with me to my friends' house. They're having 22 for dinner...

No, my blog is not becoming a recipe/food blog, but I want to share this with you so you may endanger the lives of all of your friends as well.

Here goes:

KILLER MASHED POTATOES for 10-15

Cook up 7 lbs potatoes (peeled, sliced, mashed)
THEN put 12-16 oz Philadelphia Cream Cheese (the real stuff, not whipped) into the microwave to soften for about 30 sec. Add to the mashed potatoes.
MELT 1 stick butter, add to mashed potatoes. Add to the mashed potatoes.
Add 4-6 oz. sour cream.
Stir all together well. Place in baking dish and place in oven for 40 min at 350.

Guests will swoon. Some will have heart attacks. Oops. Sorry. But all will enjoy these yummy mashed potatoes.

You can make 4-5 lbs of potatoes and add 8-10 oz. cream cheese, 3/4 of the 8-oz sour cream, and 3/4 stick of butter. It'll still kill them. :)

Doctor Mom, sending some over via internet.

Mel, I'm doing this for Thanksgiving. But you can cut down dramatically on each ingredient and serve it any night to the Canadian. Oh, and melted shaved parmesan throughout is incredible.

Nobody, I know you'd like them!

Teresa, my first response was to you. Cut the recipe down and you can do this--they;re fabulous!

I'm intrigued and hungry. Can I omit the sour cream and have it still be excellent and tasty?

Thank you Fancy Zed. I fear they may have received a virus through Internet download...

Are they supposed to be green?

I'm here--just doing that awful thing again ... working. Why God why?

Anyway I really hope some of you will try this recipe--it's fabulous and is a real crowd pleaser. I did it last week for 15 and everytime I'd leave the room and reenter, someone was talking about how great the potatoes were! Gotta love it!

Tanya, if you take out the sour cream, I think they turn out sweeter--everyone prefers the slight tanginess (sp?). But give it a try and let us know what you think ...

You're welcome Teresa!

Doctor Mom, it does indeed sound like an Internet virus! Throw them out :) Maybe you'll have an opportunity to make these some day soon using the recipe?

Teri, they are scrumptious, but only have them once or twice a year to avoid future angioplasty. haha!
