It's the 1980s Day Party--We're in Full Swing!
WELCOME to the 1980s Day Party!
The 1980s had its ups and downs. It was the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, the Tylenol Murders (tainted bottles of Tylenol killed 7 in the Chicago area), a stock market crash ... On the other hand, we played Trivial Pursuit, computers began to revolutionize the word, and Prince entertained us along with Boy George. What a strange decade!! Can you name these people (below) from the 1980s (a-e horizontally)??
They were just a few of the unique characters from the time. Here are a few more questions:
f. Who played the role of J.R. Ewing on Dallas?
g. What was the name of the actor who played the father on Family Ties?
h. What was the name of the four actresses in The Golden Girls?
List your answers to these questions in the comments section.
I'm bringing:
my Cabbage Patch doll
my Rubik's Cube (yes, the same one I brought to the 70s party because I was confused)
my Trivial Pursuit game
and lots of food goodies to share (definitely the new Clamato Juice flavors!!)
Let the 80s Day Party begin! What will YOU bring to add to the fun? You may bring food, drinks, music, people dead or alive from the 1980s, animals, insects--you name it!
Come join the party! That means YOU!

Its the 80s and I am bringing Glamour shots for everybody!!!!! I even posted my own glamour shot today and Zed you owe me bigtime cuz I just hate posting pictures of myself. This was before I got sick, I looked good!
I had my kids in the 80s so I was kinda out of things with 2 in diapers, I missed alot. I remember Maria had her baby on Seseame street, and the little Mermaid at the theater.
Lets party!!
jane, I'm not sure what to bring... maybe my Calvin Klein ad with Brook Shields that caused a stir.
Mel, you were a knockout!! And I'm sure you still are... That photo's fabulous!
I'm bringing:
my walkman, an album, a beta player (similar to VHS for you non 80's people)
various ticket stubs: Pat Benatar, Bryan Adams, Phil Collins, Debbie Gibson
a big can of hairspray, parachute pants and leg warmers
pictures from Live Aid and Hands Across America
My 1984 yearbook, class ring and diploma
Teri, I forgot about beta players! So much better than VHS. And parachute pants!! Oh my oh my. haha!
Jane, what a big stir that stupid Calvin Klein ad caused--now anything goes.
I brought some
Duran Duran Music,
Anthony Michael Hall,
and Atari
I'm like TOTALLY bringing my, like, walkman because it's like TOTALLY AWESOME.
But, like, Clamato?? That is GRODY! I mean, like, GAG ME WITH A SPOON!
Oh, yeah, and I'm like bringing all of my, like, pinup pictures that I ripped out of 16, Teen Beat, and Tiger Beat magazines... the ones of Ricky Schroeder and Michael J. Fox and Rob Lowe. They are all, like, TOTALLY HOT BABES!
I'm also bringing the following movies:
Flashdance, Footloose, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmo's Fire, When Harry Met Sally....
I just need to come as I am. I have never left the eighties.
All the items mentioned above I still have and use. Yes, that includes Beta tapes and rubik's cube. I need a a drink...
Oh Sans, you poor thing.
Here, have a tall, frosty glass of Clamato juice.
So far I see:
C. Everett Coop - Fmr. Surgeon Gen.
Gorbachev
Joe Montana
Is that Carl Lewis? - he's moving so fast I can't tell.
mixednut, you missed one. is that a serial killer? next to the guy running so fast he's a blur....
The blur is indeed Carl Lewis--good going mixednut.
Teri--he's an attempted murderer. Never accomplished the deed. Want to make guess?
that dude who shot Reagan??
Yea! You got it! John Hinckley.
Hey if anyone wants to play Trivial Pursuit, I'm starting a game in the living room, off the terrace!
Pink question please.
Sweet there is Duran Duran! I'll be bringing my best dance I can muster to 'Rio' and the movies 'Back to the Future' and 'Wedding Singer'. (I know wedding singer wasn't made in the 80's but it is a great tribute (spoof) to all the silly stuff everyone did in the 80's).
I had some scary perms in the 80s!!
Anyone remember an Australian group called "The Escape Club"? Their big (and only?) hit was "Wild Wild West". I'm bringing them!
ok I am waiting play trivia but MC Hammer is arm wrestling with Billy Idol and I cant tear myself away.
Cant touch this
Where's the Beef??
Ah, memories of Clara Peller...
