Clean, Clean, Clean ... and Then Clean Some More!

My 87-year-old mother and me (well, mostly HER) are on a cleaning spree!! Whoopee!

So far, she's cleaned my refrigerator, the "junk" drawer, the cutlery drawer, and the sweater dresser, and the corner over there with the folded clean wash and about 6000 pairs of shoes that were not organized in pairs.

And this, ladies and gentleman, is why she now and always has weighed 98 lbs. yet can eat a larger dinner and more dessert than all of you combined.

Ok that is just wrong, but then again maybe if I wasn't so lazy & followed her example, hmmmmm.
Ok thought over, nah, I like being lazy :)
Which means I will probably always have trouble with my weight.
Say do you think she would organize my closet & my many pairs of shoes. Hubby would be thrilled.

She loves to organize. Perhaps I can rearrange her return-trip airline ticket so she stops by you before going home.

FYI: The messier the closet the better. Otherwise she will feel you have wasted her time. :)

Teri, since I'm not too far north of you, I can have her stop by tomorrow afternoon. Mess up the closet a bit--she likes m-e-s-s-y.

Mollie, she'll be at your house on Monday afternoon, right after she leaves Teri's.

The second closet sounds perfect. :)

My mom does that too, when she comes over. Of course, I am a slob.

Lynda, I am a semi-slob. But I become a BIGGER slob when I know she is going to visit because cleaning gives her a purpose and that's a good thing for someone her age.

She loves to tell me exactly what products she uses ("You used Tide? Oh no, I've found Wisk is so much better."), what tools she uses (Swiffer--never!!!) and likes to give demos. We do this every year and for some crazy reason she loves it, so I let her repeat it over and over. Makes her happy.
