The Super-Dangerous Skippy Fanny Pack

Is it me or is this not the most inappropriate and stupid contraption EVER created for use by a child?

It is a craft from Skippy Peanut Butter called the Skippy Fanny Pack. Look at the photo above carefully. It is a glass jar with ribbon glued onto it that a child will wear around his or her waist as a means of transporting and storing keys and cash.

What's wrong with this picture?

1. The child's stomach will be punctured by the broken glass jar when he or she falls accidentally forward on concrete onto the jar OR

2. The child will be robbed once muggers see exactly how much cash the child is carrying and decide to take it for themselves. What a fun day for Johnny or Susie that will be!

3. And your household keys are in there too. So your apartment will be broken into as well, all in the same day.

Sounds like a good time will be had by all!

Zed, I'm with you. this is just like those clear purses that some ladies have. I want to say to them "thanks for showing me what's in your purse", now I know what I can steal or someone else.

maybe the skippy jar is the plastic kind?

I have an offline friend who uses a clear purse and it's so weird to see what's in there...used tissues (yeck!), her WALLET!, her KEYS!, her brush with hair wrapped around it. Way too much info being given out. :)

It MIGHT be a plastic jar, but the instructions don't say. And without mentioning that, a child might decide not to use the Skippy jar at all and go with a bigger one from the pantry. Well, there we go back to the problem of glass.

What? Skippy doesn't use plastic jars with teeth?

Of course, using another jar. That is just unacceptable.

That is just the dumbest thing I have ever seen. At the very least it should be plastic. I see law suits in the making if this is real.
