Pot Roast Coming Up!

Mom, on the way home from the airport, Tuesday: Have you tried Stouffer's Yankee Pot Roast? It's so good.
Me: Nope, haven't tried it yet.

Mom, Wednesday AM: My friend Mary told me to try Yankee Pot Roast. I think it's made by Stouffer's. You have to try it!
Me: I will. Sounds good.

Mom, Thursday evening: You know what's good? Yankee Pot Roast! Who makes that again?
Me: ... Stouffer's???
Mom: Look how you know! Have you tried it?
Me: No, not yet.

Tonight over dinner: My friend Kathy told me about Yankee Pot Roast by Stouffer's. Have you had it? It's so good.
Me: Not yet. Some day. You want me to buy it for you?
Mom: No! Why would I want you to buy it for me? I don't want it. I just asked if you've tried it.

I'm thinking we're having Yankee Pot Roast some time in the near future.

YAHOO!!!

Mom is back!!

So... let me see, where's the check list??

* Oscillating Fan
* Drop the room temperature to 58 degrees
* Buy a parka
* The correct laundry detergent
* The list of reminders
* The list to remind her where to look for the list of reminders
* The buggy... since we don't care for your driving
* The earplugs, so you don't have to hear the TV at 9,000dHz
* Order Life Alert system for Fancy Zed in the event of an emergency mass murder hallucination
* An extra prescription of anxiolytics...one for Fancy Zed, one for Mom

CHECK!! That ought to do it!

Good memory Doctor Mom!
Here's another one: When we went food shopping Tuesday night, I said "Pick out some crackers for yourself." She said, "I don't eat crackers. I don't need crackers." Tonight she said, "You really get some crackers in the house. You don't have any and I wanted to put some jelly on them." Where's that Life Alert system? Where'd it go??

She's good, Beth. She's very, very good. Am I Ingrid Bergman and is this a remake of "Gaslight"?

that Stouffer's pot roast is highly over-rated. don't waste your time on it.

Thanks Doctor Mom! I'll wait by the door!

Mel, are they attempting to put us over the edge? I think they're testing our stamina and staying power. :)

I have an appointment for a haircut on Tuesday. And I already chopped off an inch on my own today.

I'm just a shell of a human being since Tuesday.

Sounds like one of Tanya's specialties. She's quite the cook you know.

Dale, could you influence Tanya to whip up the pot roast? But make sure she packages within a red Stouffer's box or Mom's not going to eat it. Thank you!

I hope you didn't buy the Yankee Pot Roast special. I mean, your mom didn't want a fuss made. ;)

I love her! Moms can be such interesting blog topics. =D

It rained terribly hard today, so I talked her into going to the movies and canceled the haircut. She's happier about my hair now because I let it go curly in the last few days instead of straightening it. I might even be able to make it through next Tuesday now without getting it cut. Wouldn't THAT be somethin'? :)
