It's Brazil Day! Welcome to Rio!
Welcome to Brazil Day
in The World According to Zed!!
The flight to Brazil was fairly uneventful, but look who was the first one to greet us at the Rio de Janeiro-Galeão (Antonio Carlos Jobim International) Airport!
I hope you have studied your samba and rhumba dance steps. If not, practice now (CLICK IMAGES TO ENLARGE). On the left is the samba, on the right is the rhumba:
I am supplying you all with the following for this all-day party:
a map of Brazil
café da manhã (their favorite coffee!)
rice and beans
cuscuz branco (a milled tapioca cooked with coconut milk and sugar)
hot dogs (another Brazilian food favorite, believe it or not)
the two dancing maniacs from the DANCING TO YOUR OWN DRUMMER post, several below this one
We will sing The Girl from Ipanema on the way to the Copacabana and Ipanema beaches:
Tall and tan and young and lovely
The girl from ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah
When she walks, shes like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes, each one she passes goes - ooh
(ooh) but I watch her so sadly
How can I tell her I love her
Yes I would give my heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at me
Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely
The girl from ipanema goes walking
And when she passes, I smile - but she doesnt see (doesnt see)
(she just doesnt see, she never sees me,...)
IMPORTANT: At Wednesday noon, we will board a boat to head west on the Amazon River. Be at the dock on time!
Navigating into small tributaries deep in the rain forest, we will see large numbers of birds of every color and shape, gargantuan trees, and monkeys. We will see dolphins leap in the air and then dive back into the water, snatching up fish. While large animals such as jaguars and tapirs still roam the forests, they conceal themselves very skillfully--if we see one, we will be very fortunate! Guaranteed, though, is observation of many other kinds of wildlife. We will see the red-bellied piranha or the armored catfish with foot-long feelers, jacaré, and Amazon crocodiles. And we will visit the homes of river settlers and native tribes. You will never forget this trip or this experience! Be sure to bring your food and drinks aboard the boat! NO food service is available!

What will YOU bring to the Brazil Day party? It could be Brazilian food, beverages, dead or alive Brazilian people, animals, insects, blah, blah. Whatever it is, be sure it will help make this party rock! Don't be sooooooo pathetic that it is not Brazil-related. This a Brazil Day party people!! haha!
Hit the beaches, tour Rio, and don't forget to be at the dock at noon for the Amazon boat launch! Ay caramba! This is an all-expenses paid trip. Just relax and enjoy!

that flight was bumpy with all the people doing the rumba and cha-cha in the aisles. i was worried we might not make it here.
i love carmen's headpiece and i've swiping it for the rest of the trip. she doesn't need it. she's dead.
can't wait to hit the beaches in the morning!
Woohoo!
My plane was late. But 12:40 is still pretty good.
Going to sleep on the beach until tomorrow. Forgot to rent a hotel room. Or pack clothes. I heard the natives walk around naked anyway.
Whew! I made it.
Got in on a small charter flight run by some locals. They seemed a tad nervous and heavily armed for airline employees but nice enough fellas.
Anyhoo..
Where's the bar??
Let's Partayyyyyyy!!!!!
I'm bringing the guarana. Antartica brand its the best. I'll also brind some dancing shoes to join in the festivities.
Dia Feliz De Brasil!
Looking forward to having a great Brazil Day! I'm a bit pissed, though, that Carmen is wearing my hat!! I checked with her before I left and she said she was wearing the green one!
I'm at the beach and wow, are these cabana boys cute! I think I'll go surfing for a while. The waves are so
strong, I hope I don't get thrown down and DROWN!
Here comes a big wave--the biggest I've seen this morning. I hope I can handle it! Look, mom, I'm surfin'... Uh-oh, my goodness, it's just too powerful a wave for me ... HELP! HELP! GLUG! GLUG! I'm drowning!
Teena, I've got Carmen's green hat if you want to use it. It's so heavy--it's got about 16 lbs of fruit on top!
You can have it--I'm busy chasing one of the cabanna boys anyway. "oh Juan, please refresh my drink for me...and get me another towel?"
I brought
Matthew Mcconaughey
with me.. He has nothing
to do with Brazil..
But he's HOT and knows
how to PARTY
And he's MINE
so back off girls..
You too dick small
Jen, didn't your mother teach you to share?!?
Would Matthew like a cup of Clamato Juice? And some Clamato Tortilla Chips? And some rice and beans?
Me like the bonita senoritas! And Matthew McConnaghey!
I'm here with my friends Sans Pantalass and Borat Sagdiyev who has an eleven year old Brazilian wife, or is it a wife with an eleven year old brazilian?
I have 5 helicopter tankers of Brazilian Rum ( Cachaca ), plenty of fruit and sandwiches and 150 bands from Rio to provide more music. We've had to hire an extra 27 boats to carry everyone and all the generating equipment. Let's all get into the mood..
Dance , everyone dance...
Borat and I DANCE !
Yahoo! Sans Pantaloons is here! Break out the rum and let's dance on this goat, er, BOAT, down the Amazon.
I've seen 12 monkeys, 2 rattlesnakes, and a jaguar!! Scarey but exciting!
Lynda is TOTALLY BURNED due to lack of clothing, and Matthew McConnaghey is looking dashing at the bow of the ship chatting with several ladies. Jen keeps pushing some of them out of her way...
Love the music Sans! Sans Pantlass is adorable!
I'm getta thirsty with all this dancing!!!
May I have a Cachaça pleez?
Cachaça
2 tablespoons sugar
2 fresh limes, finely grated and squeezed
1 cup cachaça or white rum
1 cup crushed ice
In a small bowl, combine the sugar, grated lime peel and lime juice. Let stand for 5 minutes. Add the cachaça. Pour the cocktail mixture into small glasses filled with ice. Serves 4.
I just happen to have cachaça in the cupboard, Teena!
I'm making yours extra strong to give you courage to go exploring when we get off the boat and head out into the rain forest.
There are big bad animals out there! AND Matthew McConnaghey!
I want to say I love your Americas nation. This best party I been since Uncle Futbas wake. I toor your Americas as enjoy for my great nation of Kazakhstan! We have ping pong and VCR too!
I love Sans partenloony. He great guy like your Al goresh! I loves me too sans pantaless she has waxed brazil nuts for eating yum yum.
I love your US end A. you so civilized. you have very clean crack hours and I buy slaves cheap. We not so good prices in central asia.

I love too your alkey hole. It's a great day here in rain for arrest. Music is great sex. Yor age consent not good though. We have civilized age in Kazakhstan.

I love you all US end A.!
Pants and I dance!
Dammit, I missed my flight! I'll try to hitch a ride on the back of an Anaconda and meet you all in the jungle.
Yummy! Make mine a double, Zed!
You got it, Teena!
That must have been some party for Uncle Futbas, Boris!! Are you enjoying the Amazon boat trip. I bet you don't have jaguars in Uzbekistan! Look--there goes one there on the left!
I'm not currently for sale, Boris. If I go on the market, I'll send you an alert, but it's probably going to be one of those when-hell-freezes over things.
Boris, if you plan to stay in the US you'll need some English lessons to head off arrest what with the boo-boos you make. Check out the local high schools.
Are you eyeing Matthew McConnaghey? Is it true what the tabloids are suggesting about him?
Go have some Clamato Tortilla Chips and keep dancing. You and Pants look GREAT!
Hurry Chris. We're going to make landfall by 5:30 est and have dinner with one of the local tribes. Roast pork!! And beans!
I really love rice and beans...and Russians. I love me some RUSSIANS! I might stop in at the tribe dinner later for a bite ... hahahaha!
Pass the Clamato Tortilla Chips? And Teena, may I borrow the Carmen Miranda hat?
samba anyone? 1234, 1234.
i think i'm feeling a bit nauseous from the brazilian hotdogs. they had green things in them--mold?
Jag: Go right ahead! The fruit is starting to rot and it's smelling bad :(
Unlike humans, we eat rotting food all the time--love it! Thanks Teena. You are safe to enter the village for dinner. Hugs!
Marzi: You can keep the hat! Thanks, though! I've just given the red one to Jaguar anyway. It kept falling off everytime I did the limbo.
I'm having trouble following the dance steps... anyone care to give me personal instruction?
Also-- it's too bad Fab is in Sin City... he might have liked this monkey.
I have to peel my cotton dress off my buns now
Let me help with that Doc.
The dancing I mean. hehe
I'm bushed! Spent most of the day riding the zip lines through the forest. Whoo! What a rush.
Got bit by a spider in the process.
Doc, could you have a look?
Doctor Mom, learning those dances was tough, I know. So many steps...! Keep at it though, it's worth it. Minnesotans look fabulous doing the samba!
mixednut--I hope it wasn't a poisonous spider. Do you feel faint at all?
The boat is pulling back into port in Rio de Janeiro. Oh look, there's Carmen Miranda with a new headdress to greet us!
I've got to get home to finish up a job, but please spend as much time as you like here in sunny Brazil. The party will continue.
I ask one thing: Lynda, please put some clothes on. Thank you!!!
Hugs!
i think the villagers tried to poison us. i'm not feeling so well. and that was really awful how the jaguar jumped on mixednut and dragged him away!
my flight leaves in 10 minutes but i wanted to say thanks for the trip down here. you're still paying for it, right? lol
I can't party like I used to! I have to get up for work tomorrow so it's time to crash.
Boa noite!
Ouch! Anyone bring aftersun?
Secret Agent MixedNut: I'm happy to have a look, but could you please tell me where, exactly, on your body this spider bite is located?
BTW-- thanks for helping me through those dance moves... with that cotton dress sticking to my SPF protected legs, it was difficult to navigate instruction without help.
Now I have to adjust my thong... I just have never gotten used to these things.
I totally missed the party due to this stupid job thing. Hope you all had fun!
are there any leftovers? men, food, animal species, etc.?
There's still food (rice and beans), beverages, sun, sand, and rain forest villagers for anyone who missed the party. But you've got to go to Brazil to get 'em. :)
I did bring home some leftover Clamato juice and tortilla, but to be brutally honest, they're mine all mine--how I love them so. haha
Next time we're doing a 70s party ... that should be fun!
Come to think of it, it might have been a spider monkey.
A spider monkey bite!
ahahahaha!
See what that cachaca does to ya?
Mixednut, you might be rabid. I see foam at your mouth--or is that just beer?
