Hudson River Views. Wait. No. That's Mauritius!
Outside my window, the Hudson River is rather dark, non-blue, and murky (possibly from the decomposing bodies in there, human and animal).
The Hudson River doesn't quite compare to the waters surrounding Mauritius, 900 km to the east of Madagascar, off to the east of Africa.
Could someone send me a pre-paid plane ticket to Mauritius? I have heard it is the only way to fully recuperate from the stomach flu. At least that's what I heard.

I could send you one but I'm not going to. Sorry, it's for my own good.
Drat. And I packed all afternoon.
How about paying for half a ticket? :)
I am always in awe of this planet and the fact that it makes places like this so beautiful.
you will need some company and I'm quiet, you won't know I'm even there.....
C'mon along, Teri. Just note this:
Despite using repellant, we were eaten alive by mosquitoes & bugs both inside and outside our room. We have a friendly family of lizards living in the room at night. No problem for us but some may not like them. Beach touts are a real nuisance though they are friendly. We used to retreat to the pool to avoid being disturbed all the time.

I'm used to bugs from being in Florida so much of last year. I once saw a Palmetto bug so big that its length was half the size of my shoe--and I don't have big feet! If you become the assigned bug killer/get-rid-of-er, welcome to Mauritius.
If I could, I surely would.
Honest.
Sure, sure, sure. :)
The water looks divine!
The family and I haven't been on a vacation in years. This summer at least we are going to have a stay-cation. I'm going to take a few days off work and we are going to do fun things within 50 or so miles of the house. Not very exotic, but better than nothing at all.
Sushiboy, Utah has such wonderful places to visit--I'll bet many are within 50 or so miles of home.
Stay-cations are good. I'm doing that myself this summer. I like vacations in which no planes are involved. I flew so much last year I could have landed a 747 in an emergency.
